Andy obtained a business degree with an emphasis on land and resource management from Western Colorado State University, and began his career working as a field landman in the Cheyenne working the Niobrara, then was sent to Williston to work the Bakken, then to Zanesville, Ohio to work the Marcellus. He moved to Denver in 2013 and began working for a large oil and gas lease broker, and later as an inhouse landman at a large mineral buying company reviewing title, lease records, and title opinions. Andy obtained his Certified Professional Landman (“CPL”) designation from the AAPL in 2024.
